Beauty and Me

Growing up in a society where diversity was not easily accepted, it had become a daily challenge to accept myself, especially in high school. I was thankful to my family and friends for helping me through rough years.

“Diversity” has become a buzz word for labeling people of different colors and/or are from foreign, which is not exactly accurate to say the least. I mean I am an American but my skin tone isn’t white, so does that make me any less American?

When you walk down Navy Piers in Chicago, Il it is awe to see the beauty of diversity, which was an awakening call for me. Diversity is differences within people such as shape, size, and color and accepting an individual.

Have you ever gone to a store and walked a make up aisle and you seemed so confused, because you cannot find the make up that matches your skin tone? I was so scared of make up when growing up, because there didn’t seem to be any kind of product that matched my skin tone and I was really scared to look like a clown. Slowly I started experimenting on myself and today I feel confident and I know I am not the only one who went through such situation, there are many of you facing similar crisis.

Let us walk together through the journey of Beauty that is ravishing and stylish!
